Far Cry 2 is FIRE

Far Cry 2 is an open world 1st person shooter and a soft reboot to the original Far Cry game, it shaped the franchise in the way we know and love today.

The game is set in an unnamed African town where UFFL and APR and fighting for control, both of these factions are supplied by the Jackal your mission is to find and kill him to stop the conflict.

The game allows you to choose between 6 different charecters though you'll get the same story. The protagonist has no charecter or voice making it difficult to get attached which is a major let down. The rest of the unsellected charecters appear in the story as "Buddies" each with a different feel and vibe.

The story is sharp and dark, the game has its fair share of plot twists. Sometimes the story feels a bit repetitive but it never lets you loose your interest in unfolding what's ahead.

Each charecter you meet has its own vibe and mood. Talking about the antagonist, "The Jackal" has a mysterious and creepy persona making him unpredictable and hard to catch. 

You have multiple ways to complete your mission and affect the outcome(although there is no major affect on the story). There are also side missions that unlocks new weapons or give you in game currency

The environment of the game feels very dull sometimes but it's suitable given the tone and setting of the game. The game has a big arsenal of weapons to choose from which can break and explode when over used, the enemy AI responds to gunshots very realistically and they make stratergies to take you down. All these elements collectively provide an experience that will keep you on your toes all the time.

One of the best features in Far Cry 2 has to be it's fire physics, the fire interacts with the environment and spreads very realistically making the Flamethrower one of the best weapons in the entire game.

So, apart from the dull and dusty environment and similar missions Far Cry 2 is unforgettable, nostalgic, dark and will challenge your survival instincts to its limits.
