ANT-MAN QUANTUMANIA ENDING AND POST CREDIT SCENES DISCUSSION - This is where the fun begins
In the last blog, I told u about how I felt about the movie, well tried to, at least. But today, we have many comic book pages to turn and look into. But before we do so, SPOILER WARNING. There, I gave it now. Do not cry when I tell you that Kang did not go into the probability storm alone because if he did, he would create his new and more dangerous variants. He is already fighting; god knows how many of them.
Towards the movie's end, we see Kang the Conqueror bested by ANT-MAN! The big bad of the multiversal saga is BESTED BY ANT-MAN! Now many people think that Kang is dead but come on, guys, "are you an Avenger? Have I killed you before?" has to mean something. Kang is not dead. He is just even smaller in the quantum realm. We see Kang disappear with his ship's core which can lead to him being teleported to another dimension.
So why is Kang against his variants anyway? We heard Kang say his variants started interfering with the multiverse causing incursions. Now it is possible that Kang's world was destroyed during one of the incursions, and he barely made it out with the help of his ship. This may have turned him against his own variants. But this setup makes us think that Kang is the good guy, right? Well, this is where we need to look at the mid-credit scene.
In the mid-credit scene, we see a lot of Kang, and I mean A LOT OF KANGS. This was the council of Kang straight from the pages of the comic books. Marvel comic has another council of infinitely many variants of a single character called Council of Reeds. Reed Richards, the smartest man alive, has a council too, but here we discuss the Council of Kang. So Kang will use the Avengers to defeat all his variants in Avengers: Secret Wars. Then with all of them out of his way, he will progress with his evil plans with no one stopping him.
In this mid-credit scene, we see 3 main variants of Kang: Ramatut, Immortus, and the robocop guy, which does not resemble any of the variants I know about. Ramatut is Kang's past self, i.e., before Kang became Kang the Conqueror. Immortus is Kang's future self, i.e. when Kang is done with the conquering and starts working for the Time Keepers. He works to maintain the correct flow of time. He is responsible for protecting one of the most crucial nexus in the Marvel universe, whose name is (can I get a drum roll in your head) THE SCARLET WITCH. And well, the 3rd variant is someone I don't know. It is impossible to know if all of them are okay. But then we see a comic-accurate shot of all the Kangs from across the multiverse, one of them had the classic Kang outfit, too, just an excellent detail I noticed. We are also told that someone has started to interfere with the multiverse, and I think Immortus was talking about the main MCU timeline. We did see the multiverse being touched in Loki, Spider-Man: No Way Home (I'm not getting over this movie), Dr. Strange in the multiverse of madness, and many more to come. After this, we see all the Kang variants in a massive arena emerging from a portal similar to the one from which Reed Richards came in MOM. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!
Now about the most exciting post-credit scene. Yes, it was a sneak peek from Loki season 2. We see another variant of Kang, which is Victor Timely this time. He is responsible for making the famous Kang city of the cronopolis. So basically, Kang goes into the past with all his knowledge and resources and then takes on a different name and disguise, "Victor Timely." He then establishes an immensely futuristic city called timely and the time-traveling city of cronopolis.
Well, that's it, that was all that came to my mind while watching the film. I am trying to remember the film with all the comic pages running in my mind.
