Sniper Elite is not so "Elite"

Image
Sniper Elite as the name suggests is a sniping game. If you don't snipe and try to take head-on fights you are pretty much dead. If you like to hit those sweet moving headshots and really REALLY like sniping this game will not disappoint. The music, graphics, styles used in the game screams the 2000s era, it will remind you of classic games like the OG hitman games, freedom fighters, IGI, etc The story is pretty basic, it's the end of world war 2, you are an American spy codenamed Eagle Watch, and your mission is to stop the NKVD from getting their hands on nuclear weapons. The story is basic and will not motivate you to unravel what happens next. The only thing that will motivate you to play this game is the level design which is very tactical and well placed and will force you to think about how to approach the situation. The missions in Sniper Elite are divided into small chunks and you have limited saves in higher difficulty levels. The environment and working o...

This is "The" Batman movie

Image
The Batman was a very anticipated movie of 2022, with a new Batman and a standalone storyline. With such a great legacy behind the character, it was a real challenge to do something that was never done before and that's exactly why The Batman is the best debut movie of the caped crusader. All comic book fans know for a fact that the best stories of Batman are the ones where he goes all Sherlock to work a complicated case. Whether it be Batman: The court of owls , Batman: The Long Halloween , Batman: Hush , etc, these all explore the detective aspect of the character very deeply which was missing in the previous installments but not in this movie. The movie takes this missing element and spins a story so exquisite that not even for a second you will feel unhooked, the story is full of plot twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It uses every character so adequately that none of them feel out of place. The story also does a good job of expressing the feeling ...

Splinter Cell Conviction is literally a rage game!!

Image
Sam Fisher or the "panther" is back and he's not in a good mood. Splinter Cell Conviction follows the story of Splinter Cell: Double Agent. Don't worry if you haven't played the game you'll get caught up quickly. Sam is angry and you can feel it in the grunt of his voice and the brutality of the interrogations and the gameplay itself. Older installations were focused more on "Avoiding the enemy" while this game is all about brutal and creative takedowns. The flow of the game feels smooth as it never makes you sit and wait for things to transpire, Ubisoft had a few maneuvers to pull this off. There is no in-game loading screen unless you die or reload. From the beginning till the end it feels like a single-shot game. Levels are loaded while cutscenes, objectives are projected onto the environment, and the back story is played on walls, these things keep the player immersed in the game, pushing them constantly to unfold the story. The story...

WHAT ARE DLLs AND ERRORS

Image
Anyone who has used windows must be aware of the infamous '.dll' error whenever trying to do something.  Although DLL files seem pretty important it's not very clear what they actually are. DLL stands for Dynamic Link Library, the reason they are called "Library" is DLLs contain code that multiple programs can use at the same time. Once the DLL file is loaded in a space in the memory any program that needs the code inside that DLL can access that space without the DLL having to be loaded again and again. A simple example of this is the Device Driver, which contains the code which allows the windows and other softwares to communicate with the hardware. They allow multiple applications to access your GPU, keyboard or mouse at a time. Since DLLs are only loaded when a programs specifically asks for them, they don't take a lot of space. This modularity is useful for adding new functionality like game updates just by creating new DLLs instead of modifyi...

Far Cry 2 is FIRE

Image
Far Cry 2 is an open world 1st person shooter and a soft reboot to the original Far Cry game, it shaped the franchise in the way we know and love today. The game is set in an unnamed African town where UFFL and APR and fighting for control, both of these factions are supplied by the Jackal your mission is to find and kill him to stop the conflict. The game allows you to choose between 6 different charecters though you'll get the same story. The protagonist has no charecter or voice making it difficult to get attached which is a major let down. The rest of the unsellected charecters appear in the story as " Buddies " each with a different feel and vibe. The story is sharp and dark , the game has its fair share of plot twists. Sometimes the story feels a bit repetitive but it never lets you loose your interest in unfolding what's ahead. Each charecter you meet has its own vibe and mood. Talking about the antagonist, "The Jackal" has a mysterious...

L.A. Noire is an unsung piece of art

Image
L.A Noire is a detective crime thriller set in the Los Angeles of 1940s where you play as Detective Cole Phelps .  There are street crimes, car chases, gun fights but an abundance of gameplay consists of interrogations and searching of clues. This game will give you a wonderful array of crimes, witnesses, interactions and drawing conclusion. Your goal is to successfully solve these cases in order to get promoted. L.A Noire also revolutionized facial expressions through Motion Scan , this helps you read every expression of the witness or the suspect and figure out if they are lying or telling the truth. The actors also did a phenomenal job at expressing the emotions through expressions. But this game also has its own downfall in terms of open world and story telling.  The open world feels really empty   and lifeless , I would say it's really a waste to detail the world in such a beautiful manner and the player is not being motivated to discover...

Max Payne 3 is DARK and GOOD

Image
I just finished playing Max Payne 3. It's a great game and carries the dark vibe of the Max Payne series, the story revolves around Max Payne who is now a retired cop and does body guarding for an Elite family. The game is divided into past and present sequences so we get to play as the old old Max pain in the black leather trench coat on the dark pathways of New York and also so the new Max Payne body guarding the rich kids in nightclubs. The game consists both of these flashback sequences and present sequences which I think sometimes broke the pace of the game. When you really start digging into the present story you are immediately thrown into a flashback sequence. The story of the game accelerates really quickly as the kidnapping of his clients on his  watch sets in motion a chain of events that draws Max into a much larger, more sinister story. Talking about the game play experience it is undeniably violent which is fully acceptable as it is a Max Payne game. It ha...

Intel's Naming Scheme Explained

Image
Intel's Brutal Alphabet Naming Scheme Perhaps no company in the market has been more guilty in throwing seemingly random letters at product names than intel. So let's have a look at the alphabet soup that you have to slurp down in order to understand exactly what you are buying.Well it might not be too hard to understand the difference between a core i3, core i5 and a core i7 processor as the general rule goes the bigger the number the better the product but if you have ever looked at the product specs of some Intel based laptops or even some desktops you will notice that there are some letters attached at the end of the CPU model number too, now what are these letters referring to. Well as it turns out these letters are not just some random characters Intel threw in the names of CPUs to look cool, these letters have some real meaning that actually tell you about the processor. Unfortunately, there are so many of them that it feels like that you are deciphering some Da Vinci co...
